After 17 months!

Former President Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam presenting me the Sangeet Natak Akademi award

Not taking 'NO' for an answer Jaya TV wants atleast 20 to 30 minutes (initially requested a one-hour recital and agreed to reduce the timing on my insistence) of my recital to be telecast on Ayudha Pooja. The first touch of strings through my gloved fingers, after a gap of 17 months triggered a raw, shooting pain........ as usual God will sail me through my recording which is to be on 20th, coming Saturday, LESS THAN 5 DAYS!! I must say I have some guts for having accepted to perform with practically no time to reacquaint myself with the veena!! God within will hold my hand as always..........

There is a special type of cover which u can wear while performing. This protects the neuro endings of fingers. These protective covers are available in Malar Hospital , Miot etc., at the prescription of neurologists.
Perhaps u can take the advice of your own physician or any neuro physician whom u may know. Dr.A.V.Srinivasan M.D. ( Neuro) Retd.Professor and HOD of Medical college, chennai may also help u.
but one thing.
For Heaven sake, kindly kindly do not be away from your veena.
at least once a week u practise for fifteen minutes.
I recollect that when my own mom took her veena back after 15 years, she could not even move her left arm.
My mom literally wept that day which i still remember.

How touching to know about your mother's plight, God has a greater reward for her which she will receive in time.
I thank you immensely for the information and guidelines regarding neuro physicians.
With all your best wishes I shall be in touch with veena for atleast 15 minutes everyday.
Thank you and best regards!
