ABHIJAANEEHI MAAMEVA SHIVESHAM GNYAANAYOGINAAM.
Meaning- One must know Me as the bearer of all living beings and all elements, as Sri Vishnu the yoga of luxuries, and Shiva who is the yoga of Knowledge.
8) AHAM VEDAVIDAAM VYAASAHA AACHAARYAANAAM CHA SHANKARAHA
VARADAANAAM NRUSIMHASCHA DHWAJAANAAM PRANAVADHWAJAHA.
Meaning-In the knowledge of Vedas I am Sage Vyasa Maharshi, in Acharyas (great Spiritual Masters) I am Shankara, Lord Narasimha in granting boons and in all the flags ('dhwaja'- 'dhwaja sthambam' in temple foyers) I am the flag that contains 'Omkaram'.
9) KAPEENAAM AANJANEYOSMI VITTHESHO DHANINAA MAHAM
NRUPAANAAM RAAMACHANDROSMI MUKTHAANAAM SHREESHUKOSMYAHAM.
Meaning- In monkeys I am Anjaneya, among the wealthiest I am Kubera, among kings I am Ramachandra, among the liberated souls I am Sri Suka.
10) MAHENDROSMI SURAANAAMCHA DHEEMATHAAMCHABRUHASPATHIHI
THEJASVINAA MAHAAM BHAASVAAN SHISHIRAANAAM SUDHAAMSHUMAAN.
Meaning- In Gods (Devas) I am Mahendra, among intellectuals I am Brihaspathi, among the effulgent I am Sun, in coolness I am Moon.
11) KSHETHRAANAA MASMI KAASHEECHA THEERDHAANAA MASMISAAGARAHA
DHENURASMI PASHOONAAMCHA VARNAANAAMBRAAHMANOSMYAHAM.
Meaning- Among divine places I am Varanasi (Kasi), among holy rivers I am the ocean, among animals I am the cow and in castes I am brahmin.
12) VINAYOSMI GUNAANAAMCHA YAGNYOSMYAHAM SUKARMANAAM
ABHAYAMCHAASMI VEERAANAAM VISHWASOSMI MAHAATHMANAAM.
Meaning- In qualities I am humility, in good deeds I am 'yagnam' (fire sacrifice), in warriors I am fearlessness and in great people I am trustworthiness.
13) VAAGMINAAM SATHYAVAADEECHA SHUCHEENAAM BRAHMACHAARYAHAM
BHOORIPRADOSMI DAATHROONAAM SHAANTHOSMIGNYAANINAAMAHAM.
Meaning- Among good speakers I am the epitome of Truth, among the pure I am celibate (brahmacharya), among philanthropists I am abundance, among the knowledgeable I am calm and serene.
14) PITHAAHAM SARVABHOOTHAANAAM MAATHAA CHAASMI THADHAAGURUHU
BHARTHAAHAM SARVAVISHVASYA SUHRUCHCHAASMI PRIYANKARAHA.
Meaning- I am the Father, Mother and the Spiritual Master of all living beings and all the elements. I bear the entire Universe. I am the loving Friend.
15) PITHAAMAHOSMI SAAKSHEECHA MAAMVIDDHI PRAPITHAAMAHAM
VEDAA AHAM PARAMGNYAANAM PRABHUSHCHAASMI DRUDHAVRATHAHA.
Meaning- I am the Oldest One ('pithamaha'), I am the Witness, I am Older than the oldest (prapithamaha). I am the compilation of all Vedas. With firm and fixed vows I am the Lord of the highest Knowledge.
16) DVIJAANAA MASMYAHAM THYAAGEE YATHEENAAM GNYAANAVAANAHAM
POSHAKAANAAM GRIHASTHOSMI KSHATHRIYAANAAMAHAM PRABHUHU.
Meaning- Among brahmins I am an ascetic (one who renounces, sacrifices), among monks I am the Wise One (of highest knowledge), among those who offer food and shelter I am the householder and among Kshatriyas I am the King.
