CHAPTER-1
SRI GURU PRABHAAVA VARNANAMU (Description of the greatness of GURU)-
1) ACHINTHYAAVYAKTHAROOPAAYA NIRGUNAAYA GUNAATHMANE
SAMASTHA JAGADAADHAARA MOORTHAYE BRAHMANEY NAMAHA.
Meaning-The One who is beyond comprehension, One who has a form which cannot be expressed, One who is untouched by tendencies- my obeisance to that God!
2) RUSHAYA OOCHUHU-
SOOTHA! SOOTHA! MAHAAPRAAGNYA! NIGAMAAGAMA PAARAGA
GURUSWAROOPA MASMAAKAM BROOHI SARVAMALAAPAHAM.
Meaning- The Sages spoke- O Sutha, Sutha, One who is a great expert! One who has mastered the Vedas and Upanishads! Please educate us about the greatness of the form of Guru.
3) YASYA SRAVANA MAATHRENA DEHEE DUKHAA DVIMUCHYATHE
YENA MAARGENA MUNAYAHA SARVAGNYATHVAM PRAPEDIREY.
Meaning- Human beings have been freed from worldly bondage and miseries while sages have realized the Ultimate Truth by just listening to SRI GURU GITA.
4) YATHRAAPYA NA PUNA RYAATHI NARA SSAMSAARABANDHANAM
THADHAAVIDHAM PARAM THATHVAM VAKTHAVYA MADHUNAA THVAYAA.
Meaning- After attaining the fruit of SRI GURU GITA human being will never again get caught in the material world. Please impart to us the knowledge that which is of Supreme nature.
5) GUHYAADGUHYATHAMAM SAARAM GURUGEETHAA VISESHATHAHA
THVATHPRASAADAACHCHA SHROTHAVYAA THATHSARVAM BROOHI SOOTHANAHA.
Meaning- This is the utmost secret of all secrets. This is filled with Ultimate knowledge. This is specifically called as SRI GURU GITA. We are eager to listen to the sacred text, all credit to Your Grace! Please tell us in detail all that there is to know about SRI GURU GITA.
6) ITHI SAMPRAARDHITHA SSOOTHO MUNISANGHAI RMUHURMUHUHU
KUTHOOHALENA MAHATHAA PROVAACHA MADHURAM VACHAHA.
Meaning- The groups of sages repeatedly requested Sri Sutha to impart the knowledge of SRI GURU GITA to them. Feeling very enthusiastic Sri Sutha spoke sweetly as follows-
7) SOOTHA UVAACHA-
SRUNUDHVAM MUNAYA SSARVE SHRADDHAYAA PARAYAA MUDAA
VADAAMI BHAVAROGAGHNEEM GEETHAAM MAATHRUSWAROOPINEEM.
Meaning- Sri Sutha spoke-
O great Sages! Please listen to me attentively. I will educate you about that which will remove all worldly sorrows and that which is like a Mother (SRI GURU GITA).
8) PURAA KAILAASA SIKHAREY SIDDHA GANDHARVA SEVITHEY
THATHRA KALPALATHAA PUSHPAMANDIREY THYANTHA SUNDARE.
Meaning- Long ago Mount Kailash was worshipped by great ascetics and celestial beings. On top of this mountain was a beautiful tower decorated by exotic flowers and creepers.
9) VYAAGHRAAJINEY SAMAASEENAM SHUKAADI MUNIVANDITHAM
BODHAYANTHAM PARAM THATHVAM MADHYEMUNIGANAM KVACHITH.
Meaning- There in was seated on a tiger-skin the Lord (Shiva), He who is worshipped reverentially by great intellectuals like Sri Shuka and He who bestows divine knowledge on great sages..
10) PRANAMRAVADANAA SHASVANNAMA SKURVANTHA MAADARAATH
DRUSHTVAA VISMAYA MAAPANNAA PAARVATHEE PARYAPRUCHCHATHA.
